How We Adapt: Colonial Latin American History for the Climate Crisis

Description

This roundtable discussion centers the role of climate, ecology, healing, disease, and disaster in colonial Latin American history. It asks how Latin America’s experience of environmental volatility in the colonial period can inform our understanding of the current climate crisis. Conversely, it asks how emphasis on environments, broadly conceived, revises and enriches our understanding of the colonial period.
