    Description

This proposal seeks funding for the acquisition of an Agilent 5800 Vertical Dual-View (VDV) Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). ICP-OES is a versatile and powerful analytical instrument used for the determination of trace elements in a variety of materials. The Agilent 5800 VDV model is particularly advanced, featuring high-speed data acquisition, exceptional sensitivity, and robust design for complex matrices. The addition of this equipment to our laboratory’s capabilities will facilitate ongoing research in energy storage, environmental monitoring, and materials science, with a focus on projects such as energy storage material development, biomass valorization to energy and chemicals, lithium-ion battery recycling, critical metal and rare earth element (REE) recovery from electronic waste, and environmental and agricultural analyses. Incorporating the Agilent 5800 VDV ICP-OES will significantly enhance our analytical throughput and accuracy, thereby advancing our mission to develop sustainable and innovative solutions in energy and material science research.
