New and Enhanced Research Infrastructure: Building SEM In Situ Nanoindentation Capabilities

Equipment/facility: Equipment

    Equipments Details

    Description

An in situ nanomechanical testing system in the PI’s lab (Paul Rottmann, Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering, Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering) is currently unable to perform indentation experiments due to a lack of Berkovich microforce sensing probes. A total of $14,080 is requested to purchase four probes from FemtoTools. By funding this proposal, in situ nanomechanical capabilities unique on UK’s campus would be available for collaboration with Materials Research Priority Area (m-RPA) members).
