Research Interests

My research is focused on cellular mechanisms driving organ-specific cancer metastasis and therapeutic strategies to target cancer metastases in parenchymal organs. I have an expertise background in translational research with a focus on evaluation of drug delivery into metastatic tumors with nanocarrier products, development of in vitro and in vivo translational models of cancer metastasis and non-invasive imaging of cancer metastasis.
To determine therapeutic efficiency of radiation therapy and radiopharmaceuticals, I have developed models of neuroendocrine and colorectal cancer lung or liver metastasis and techniques, which allow us to address translational and clinically relevant questions in preclinical models. In addition, I continue to examine role of DNA repairs pathways and role of nucleotide synthesis in neuroendocrine cancer sensitivity to radiation therapy.  These qualifications in developing animal models of metastasis and a long track record of collaborating together with multidisciplinary teams to address translational problems laid the groundwork for answering questions in the proposed research.
