2007-08 Mathematics & Science Partnership

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The primary purpose of this project is to explore how algebra in the early years establishes the necessary groundwork for ongoing and future mathematics learning. As the stakes get higher in Kentucky, now requiring that all students take the Explore, Plan, and ACT, the term "Algebra for all" must be preceded by "Algebra in the early years" if we expect all students to be successful on these assessments. This project will result in the production of products (e.g., learning targets, assessments, and interventions) that can be accessed by all Kentucky teachers that will assist them with laying this foundation for success in algebra in the middle and high school.
