Description

To collaborate with the Forest Service of the USDA-FS in the 2007 National Phytophthora ramorum Early Detection Survey of Forests. To sample eight watersheds drained by perennial streams in the state of Kentucky for detectio of P. ramorum, by baiting for Phytophthora species using rhododendron leaves once a month for five months. To perform isolations in selective culture medium of Phytophthora species recovered from bait leaves and to perform th eidentification of Phytophthora ramorum based on morphological features if it is found to be growing in culture.
