2022 eXtension Abstract The funds made available through this opportunity will be used to enhance our existing Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP). Our PSEP program overseas the training of and issues certification for 11,000 private pesticide applicators every three years, maintains certification records on Private Applicators, provides training materials for commercial applicators, and provides continuing education opportunities for commercial applicators. This proposal requests funds to develop training videos used by county agents to train and certify private pesticide applicators. Funds are requested to support 8 individual payments to graduate students for the finished development of PSEP training videos on topics approved by the PI to enhance the PSEP program. These videos will be from 5 to 10 minutes in length and replace out of date videos or add videos needed for new topics. This project will enhance our Private Applicator Certification Program. As required by the Request for Proposals, the PI will attend one regional PSEC workshop. Additional funds are also requested to partially support and a staff member who is supporting the private applicator program through the development of training materials.
