School Climate and Transformation Grant
A partnership between the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children (UK CTAC)
and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE)
Scope of Work

The UK CTAC will partner with KDE provide COVID response and support as well as a
sustainability initiative using a Training for Trainers format that will serve areas of the
state identified by UK CTAC and KDE, to compliment to duplicate activities from other
federal projects. Deliverables include the following:
1) Two, Train the Trainers using a learning collaborative format. These learning
collaboratives will include a pre-work period, multiple learning sessions, all training
materials needed to deliver a 90 minute TIPE training, and access to the group
learning management system used for the specific collaborative (i.e. Basecamp) for
resource support. This price includes all travel and supplies TTT activities will be
delivered virtual formats if in person learning sessions are not possible. All
participants will have access to all the resources provided to AWARE LC participants
and will be included in the end of the year final learning session.
2) Integration of trainees into the peer support network
3) Evaluation of learning collaborative impact will be determined through pre and
posttest data collection to demonstrate learning and organizational change toward
becoming trauma informed; and numbers of counties or districts with TIPE trainers.
Part 2
4) Trauma-informed trainings (up to 7) and technical assistance to districts and
schools as requested. Training, and technical assistance will be tailored to request
and need.
Part 3
5) Review of all statewide trauma informed care plans. Pursuant to KRS 158.4416,
each local board of education was required to develop a plan for implementing a
trauma-informed approach in its schools by July 1, 2021. This deliverable will
include a review of all 171 plans (or all those that are made available to us),
development of a report outlining the activities included in these plans, innovations,
gaps, resource requirements and recommendations. Once completed this plan will
be presented to KDE and will be used to tailor activities in the final year(s) of
funding.
