ABSTRACT
Communities Talk is a SAMHSA stipend provided to encourage communities to start or continue
the conversation around preventing alcohol and other drug use. At the University of Kentucky,
an event known as Mocktoberfest, coordinated by the University of Kentucky Prevention,
Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER) department, is a widely attended event
by students from across campus. This event provides students with the opportunity to sample
mocktails and a space to have conversations with faculty and staff about substance use.
