2026 Kentucky PSEP Enhancement

2026 Kentucky PSEP Enhancement Grant Abstract With over 10,400 private applicators in the state of Kentucky, developing resources to address concepts included with mi ga on measures is cri cal for understanding and compliance for applicators. The Pes cide Safety Educa on Program (PSEP) is a non-fund genera ng program in Kentucky relying on grants to help with supervision and resource development. With the ongoing updates and protocols for mi ga on measures, developing clear educa onal resources is a very important part of applicator trainings. Extension Founda on PSEFMP support will allow the Kentucky PSEP to con nue to oversee private applicator trainings, cer ?ca ons, and resource development. Expanding our resources to include a hands-on ac vity focused on mi ga on measures will help with instruc onal reten on. Design of the ac vity would follow a “cue card” concept with individual mi ga on measures listed on a separate card and have the associated points value for that measure on the back. As a complimentary component to the ac vity, two informa onal videos discussing EPA’s PALM for runo? assessment and spray dri bu?er reduc on will be developed to demonstrate how applicators assess ?elds for mi ga on measures values.
