Description
The beef group at the University of Kentucky will commit a significant amount of
time to work with other Partners in development of the Consortium. The beef
group will work with cow-calf, stocker, feedlot, and processing industries in the
state and region. The key personnel listed in this grant will assist in Consortium
operation and will provide their expertise in areas of nutrition, genetics,
reproduction, meats, management, and record keeping. Research and
education at the university will focus on the vertically coordinated production,
marketing and information system proposed in this grant to enhance profitability
and sustainability of the beef industry in the state and region.
