ABSTRACT The Native Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research’s (NAD-RCMAR) scientific focus will be population-level health disparities related to Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias in American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, including behavioral, sociocultural, and environmental factors. This work will be grounded in the health disparities research framework endorsed by NIA. This core will enhance the diversity of an aging research workforce by mentoring promising RCMAR Scientists investigating Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias among American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, especially those from underrepresented minority groups.
