Abstract
Despite a focus in the literature on understanding bisexual identity within the context of a monogamous or consensually non-monogamous relationship, mixed-sex couples (where a cisgender man is in a relationship with a cisgender woman but one or both identify as bisexual) have received limited research attention on a dyadic level. Taking a dyadic approach offers a level of context not available in individual-level studies. Using a dyadic, quantitative, 30-day daily experience approach with a follow-up qualitative in-depth interview, the proposed study aims to provide clarity on the nuanced dynamics between mixed sex couples by exploring relational factors including sexual behaviors, sexual desire, communication, love, sexual trust, monogamy, and satisfaction in the context of monogamous and consensually non-monogamous relational styles.
