Description
The Community Transportation Innovation Academy is a special transportation funding program directed to the University of Kentucky (Kentucky Transportation Center) by the United States Congress. The funds are authorized and appropriated within the USDOT/FHWA continuing resolutions with funding flowing through the Federal Highway Administration to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Funds are to be used for transportation research and education initiatives aimed at improving transportation policy, efficiency and safety. This funding is for continuation activities (Management, TSM [Transportation Systems Management] Education, and Professional Development) and selected new initiatives to include projects for: developing an Advanced Technology Development Protocol Model and determining the Economic Benefits of Inland Waterways.
