Description
The purpose of the Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) Administrative Supplement is to test the feasibility of developing, implementing, and assessing one joint collaborative pilot project that is focused on a regional cancer health disparities (CHD) problem as defined in the GMaP Region 2 implementation plan. The lead institution on the project is Meharry Medical College, an HBCU whose mission is to serve minorities and the underserved in its communities. For this supplement, we have chosen to address obesity reduction in three Region 2 states (Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina). The specific aims for this supplement are to:
Aim 1: Sustain the current regional GMaP infrastructure capacity (via a GMaP coordinator)
Aim 2: Build and strengthen the Region 2 GMaP partnership base
Aim 3: Conduct a pilot project (aligned with the implementation plan) to address a regional health burden of obesity
