Description

The Administrative Supplement for Strengthening Research, Training, and Outreach Capacity of the Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) will enhance capacity in the areas of communication/dissemination, recruitment/placement, and evaluation as part of building region]based ghubsh for the support and efficient management of cancer health disparities research, training and outreach. Strengthening regional GMaP organizational capacity will enhance NCIfs ability to increase information, resource and best practice sharing among partners. GMaP encourages teams of researchers to work together to share information, resources, and tools; enhance underrepresented faculty recruitment/job placements; and strengthen region]based community research and outreach efforts that contribute to achieving the following goals: 1) advance the science of CHD research; 2) promote the development of the next generation of competitive, underrepresented cancer and CHD researchers; and ultimately, 3) achieve measurable reductions in CHD within the region. The Region 1/2 GMaP hub will be headquartered at the University of South Carolina, with sites at the University of Kentucky (subcontract to USC) and Johns Hopkins University.
