Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Adolescent Health and Recovery Treatment and Training Abstract (AHARTT) is a model clinic program designed to address adolescent substance abuse. An integral component of AHARTT is the Peer Support Initiative (PSI). The purpose of the PSI is to provide non-clinical peer support to young people participating in AHARTT. Peer-supporters are trained and credentialed professionals who promote positive behavior through experiential sharing, behavior modeling, skill/goal setting, promoting self-efficacy, and fostering the development of community supports. PSI embraces a holistic approach by supporting program participants in myriad “life” areas, including school, social/romantic relationships, etc.
