Altered Drug Metabolism in Pregnancy

Dr. Tracy will devote 1.2 calendar months effort to the project and will provide weekly consultation (via phone and webcam) on design ofexperiments in both Aims 1 and 2, including studies of hormone effects on CYP isoforms in human hepatocytes, choices ofprobe drugs for measuring CYP activity, design of appropriate inhibitor experiments and assistance with analysis and interpretation of results. In addition, he will assist in design, analysis and interpretation ofresults of studies with plasma from pregnant women and the effects ofthese endogenous compounds on CYP-mediated metabolism in human hepatocytes. Finally, Dr. Tracy will assist in preparation of abstracts and publications resulting from the work listed herein.
