Description

This proposal is for an outcome study conducted by the University of Kentucky Center on Drug and Alcohol Research (UK CDAR) that will examine changes in key behavioral factors among individuals who have received social work case management interventions as part of diversion plans from Kentucky District and Circuit Courts. The diversion program involves social workers being part of the defense team. In coordination with other defense actions, they assess individuals for social or behavioral health service needs, refer them for services, and selectively follow]through to see that services meet agreed needs. The social workers relate findings to the courts under the general supervision of the DPA defense attorneys. This study will examine client level outcomes of the DPA social work services.
