An Overview of the United States Industrial Hemp Pilot Programs

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The review of hemp agricultural pilot programs in the U.S. will include as much information as possible about each state pilot program that has passed industrial hemp legislation and provide update on states considering legislation. As needed, phone calls and/or email will be used to follow-up with leadership of state pilot programs to clarify the information collected. Simultaneously, a comprehensive review of the industrial hemp literature will be conducted. Literature focused on the U.S. is likely to be relatively sparse so literature focused on industrial hemp production in other countries, particularly Canada, will be included. Three in person meetings between co-operators and ERS staff will be included: (1) a kick-off meeting early in the project; (2) meeting to discuss draft white paper prior to final revisions; (3) meeting to present final results. In the interim conference calls will be held between co-operators and ERS on a bi-weekly basis.
