Grants and Contracts Details
Description
This proposal has been prepared in response to a request from staff of the Kentucky Transportation
Cabinet (KYTC), Division of Environmental Analysis for a proposal and cost estimate for conducting a Phase 2
National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility assessment of archaeological site 15TR182 in Trigg
County, Kentucky. The NRHP assessment will be conducted in a several stages, with results from earlier stages
helping to more effectively target later stages of work. The archaeological site was identified in a recent Phase I
archaeological survey of additional right-of-way (ROW) for a bridge replacement along KY 1585 in northeastern
Trigg County, near Caledonia, Kentucky. The work that will be conducted is intended to provide an NRHP
eligibility evaluation of the portion of 15TR182 that will be affected by the proposed road construction. The site
extends outside the proposed new ROW, and those portions of the site will not be impacted by the proposed
construction, nor will they be evaluated for NRHP eligibility. Determination of the NRHP eligibility status of
15TR182 is intended to help KYTC determine if additional work is needed at the site, and the level of additional
work (if any) that may be required to mitigate the impact of proposed construction.
