Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The purpose of the Medicaid Analytic Support Project is to support evaluation
and improvements in the effectiveness and quality of services delivered to
Medicaid and KCHIP beneficiaries.
The Adult Medicaid Quality: Improving Maternal and Infant Health Outcomes
CHIP grant through the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services is focused on
using data analytics to inform policy decisions regarding unintended pregnancies,
particularly in Appalachia where poverty is more prevalent and educational
attainment is lower when compared to the rest of the state. In collaboration with
the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services (KDMS), Managed Care
Organizations (MCOs), and the Department of Public Health (DPH), KDMS is
utilizing data analytics to inform policy decisions to improve maternal health.
KDMS and DPH coordinates data collection through the MCOs responsible for
quality measures, efficiency in expenditures, and increasing access to care for its
members. Analysis on the measures will be conducted and we will coordinate
measure submissions to CMS.
