Anesthesia Resident Skill Development Assessed by Competitive OSCE Event: Anesthesia Olympics

This study proposes to assess anesthesiology residents’ skills and knowledge throughout the continuum of training via a simulation event (Anesthesia Olympics). Simulation scenarios and assessment tools will be developed and validated by a team of expert faculty. After IRB approval, residents will be invited to participate in the Anesthesia Olympics simulation event. Trained faculty raters will assess the completeness, accuracy and efficiency of the residents on each of the skills demonstrated. Once the data is analyzed and results written, we will submit the findings for publication in a variety of journals in order to distribute the information widely.
