Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The goal of this scholarship program is to continue to provide opportunities for students who otherwise would not be able to seek higher education in the health care related field. This scholarship program will enhance the pipeline of workers that can adapt to legislative mandates, changing health conditions, and the changing structures of the institutions that provide health care. There are some excellent educational opportunities within the Appalachian region to earn a degree in the health care field (see Table 1). While 2- and 4-year institutions provide a terrific learning opportunity, our community colleges and technical schools are often the most modern and relevant educators. Thus the purpose of this scholarship is to provide access to educational opportunities at an accredited institution that offers degrees in the health care or related field.
