Appalachian Regional Commission Archives, 2003-2004

We wish to request $3,000 to help process incoming ARC archives material. Monetary support from the ARC will allow us to hire an additional graduate student dedicated strictly to arranging, describing, and integrating ARC material during the coming year. In addition we will be able to place currently receive material on line where it will be accessible to ARC staff. Moreover, ARC support will provide us with funding that will carry us through the entire calendar year 2004. The ARC graduate student will sort additional ARC material into previously established categories used in the 1990 inventory: Internal Documents, State Plans, Final Project Reports, Local Development Districts and Audio-Visual. Each item will be entered onto a spreadsheet with author, title, date, and when appropriate as in the Final Reports, Project number. When completed, the spreadsheet will be used by personnel in the library's Electronic Resources unit to post the information on line locally and in the Kentucky Digital Library.
