Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Members of the Institute's Committee on Research and Policy evaluated 16 proposals submitted in response to a request for proposals for student research enhancement grants. The nine projects included in this application represent those identified for support by the advisory committee. These small projects will provide funding for undergraduate and graduate student research efforts (2 BS, 5 MS, and 2 PhD students) at 4 different institutions in a variety of discipline areas (biological sciences, forestry, civil engineering, biosystems and agricultural engineering, geosciences, and chemistry). The intent of this approach is to strengthen programs related to water resources and to encourage development of broad-based research capacity related to water in the Commonwealth. An additional Information Transfer Project is intended to help support a variety of communications efforts of the institute including several web sites and the Annual Water Resources Symposium.
