Description
The University of Kentucky will lead Task 6 of the ARC Coal Industry Ecosystem (CIE) Analysis Extensions project, “State Recovery and Treatment Program Responses to the Opioid Epidemic.

By improving our understanding of different policies, we will be able to recommend more affective policies to have a better control on opioid in Appalachian region.
This task will include data collection and compilation will involve identifying and obtaining available treatment and recovery data from online and individual state agency sources.
Because administrative structures vary by state, the first step will be identifying for each state the agency or agencies that collect and house the relevant data, and taking the necessary steps to acquire them.
Dr. Elham Erfanian will lead this work as a new Post-Doctoral Fellow for the Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky.
