Description

This proposal has been prepared in response to a request from staff at Mammoth Cave National Park (MACA) for a proposal and cost estimate for conducting additional archaeological investigations at the location of proposed improvements at the Green River Ferry crossing, within MACA. Under the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the National Park Service (NPS) and the Kentucky State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), NPS agrees to provide professional archaeological evaluation of areas of potential effect for undertakings that disturb the ground or require earth moving activities within MACA. MACA staff requested the University of Kentucky Program for Archaeological Research (UK-PAR) to construct a proposal for providing professional archaeological services in relation to the proposed improvements at the Green River Ferry crossing.
