Abstract
The Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) at the University of Kentucky (UK) is a collaboration with the
University of Louisville and four eastern Kentucky regional Area Health Education Centers (AHEC). This
project aims to expand health workforce pathways to positively impact the diversity, efficacy, and
geographic distribution of the health professions workforce practicing in the Commonwealth of
Kentucky. Specifically, this project supports two major goals. These are: a) early-pathways health
careers activities for middle and high school students within classrooms and in communities, and b)
health careers programming for learners in classroom, simulation, community, and professional
contexts.
