Description
In order to transform our new satellite access point at June Buchanan Medical Clinic (JBMC)
into a competitive health care facility we propose the following capital improvement
projects: -Installation of a Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Air-Cooled DX Multizone
System at JBMC to replace the inefficient boiler system currently in place at JBMC. -Updating
X-Ray equipment to digital technology, and -Purchase of updated exam room equipment,
casing, and furniture. Collectively, these improvements will increase efficiency (for an
estimated cost savings of $19,000 annually in heating and cooling costs at our 13,326
square foot facility), improve quality of care (digital radiography will enhance overall image
display), and enhance patient outcomes (through reduction of diagnostic errors). The
proposed facility enhancements will also improve patient satisfaction through replacement
of outdated equipment in addition to optimizing workflow as a result of renovations in exam
room equipment and casing. The renovation will add two new exam rooms (converted from
a former audio room and medication room) to JBMC, resulting in increased encounter
capacity and reduced patient wait time.
