ARRA: Genomics of Olfactory Regneration

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

This is an administrative supplement application for equipment funds to replace a digital microscopy imaging system. Digital imaging is at the foundation of the parent award, and is critical to every project in the lab. We are no longer able to upgrade our digital imaging system and must therefore replace it. A new system will enhance the the parent project by allowing us to move to infinity corrected optics, to expand the wavelengths we can image, to increase sensitivity, and to increase image resolution. We will be able to image fluorophores we cannot currently use and better image subcellutar compartments and the overall organization of the olfactory epithelium, all of which contribute to our ability to detect and analyze defects in olfactory development and regeneration in mutant mice.
