Description
This proposal represents an expansion of the Assessment for Learning Project (ALP), led by The Center for innovation in Education, which is creating a series of demonstration sites, or proof points, that build the field's commitment and capacity to integrate formative assessments supporting deeper learning in comprehensive and balanced systems of assessments, with the support of informed and forward-thinking state and local policy. It builds and leverages foundation investments in high-quality summative assessments, the 51st state assessment and accountability design's call for systems of strong formative assessments, and the field's desire for supports and resources in non-summative assessments to balance previous focus on summatives.
