The University of Kentucky (UKy) is pleased offer a proposal to host the following Borlaug fellows: Fellow #2 (Ghana) Fellow seeks to work on the analysis of pesticide residues in selected fruits and vegetables. The aim of the program is to establish the levels of chemical residues associated with the use of pesticides on selected fruits and vegetables. Fellow #3 (Ghana) Fellow seeks learn the latest methods for analyzing chemical residues on fruits and vegetables. He hopes to determine pesticide residues levels in tomatoes at harvest and the half-life of the detected pesticides when stored under ambient and refrigerated conditions as well as develop sustainable, low-cost well-targeted training interventions! programs for vegetable farmers on the need for safe use of pesticides.
