Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The eight-week program for each Borlaug FelIow at the University of Kentucky would begin with a two-day orientation to University, Lexington, and Central Kentucky. The Fellow would visit local farms and become more acquainted with Lexington history and culture. Each participant will have an opportunity to participate in some of the activities and meet with some groups that deal with women and agriculture. These groups include the Kentucky Women in Agriculture, the Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Program and Annie's Project (which is a financial business education program for farm women). Women are very active in many aspects of Kentucky agriculture, including the Partnership for Family Farms (headed by Alice Baesler). They would be very interesting in hosting these fellows for part of their stay in Kentucky.
