Abstract
University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio
Purpose
This proposal is to support the State of Texas’ ongoing Child and Adolescent Needs and
Strengths (CANS) and Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) implementations in
partnership with the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio’s Centralized
Training Infrastructure for Evidence-Based Practices (CTI-EBP). Training on the use of the
CANS and ANSA with fidelity to the Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management
(TCOM) framework will be conducted using the proposed methods below.
Methods
1. Workforce Development: CANS and ANSA SuperUser training events to ensure fidelity to
the TCOM approach:
a. Six (6) CANS/ANSA SuperUser training events: Day 1
b. Six (6) CANS/ANSA SuperUser training events: Day 2
2. Workforce Development: Eleven (11) CANS/ANSA webinars
Qualifications of Key Staff
Laura Rogers, LCSW
Background and experience: Laura L.Rogers, LCSW, is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Center
for Innovation in Population Health at the University of Kentucky. Here she provides project
management, consultation, technical assistance, and training on Transformation
Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM) to various jurisdictions throughout the
United States. In addition, Ms. Rogers has experience as a community-based mental health
services administrator in California. She has worked with school, child welfare, juvenile
justice, and mental health systems in Illinois and NY, providing training and
implementation support on TCOM. Ms. Rogers has a Master’s in Social Work from the State
University of New York (SUNY) at Albany. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds
her Permanent School Social Work Certification (NY).
Position Description: Ms. Rogers will be the project lead. She will coordinate and facilitate the
CANS/ANSA SuperUser training events and webinars.
