CARAT-TOP Intergenerational Service Learning Program

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Toys with a Purpose lending library will support child development and promote learning through play for children with disabilities by providing free access to adapted toys. This program brings together students, with and without disabilities, from local high schools in Perry County to adapt toys, prototype new parts, develop accessible learning materials, and develop strategies for engaging community stakeholders to promote and grow this new program. In order to more effectively facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities to this program, additional equipment is needed. Specifically, we are requesting funding to purchase laptops as well as the hardware (e.g. adapted keyboards, hands free mouse, etc.) needed to allow participation by individuals with a variety of disabilities.
