Description
Project Objective: to detennine the effect of a mid-story removal treatment implemented as part of an oak shelterwood system on the vigor of oak (Quercus spp.) regeneration as indicated by changes in height growth and root carbohydrate reserves. Specifically this project will detennine the carbohydrate concentration of the primary roots of oak advanced regeneration typical of intennediate quality sites and planted seedlings that are part of an on-going oak shelterwood study in Berea College Forest, Berea KY.
