CCSG Pilot: Targeting the Synthetic Lethal Relationship Between Deficiencies in DNA Mismatch Repair and WRN Helicase to Treat MSI-High Tumors

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Approach: Three of the sub-aims make use of statistical analyses. These analyses use standard methods to test the relevant hypotheses : t-tests and ANOVA for example. The designs seem appropriate for each aim. No attempt was made to justify the number of mice for the hypotheses involving mice. Groups containing 5 mice each are proposed. Only large effect sizes will be able to be detected with this number of mice. Maybe the investigators expect large effects in these comparisons involving mice. Do the investigators have any idea of the magnitude of effects that would be scientifically important? Reasonable pilot data should be generated from this proposal to design and perform larger studies that may follow this pilot project. This pilot project makes use of 2 of the SRFs : BPTP and BBSRF which seems appropriate given the nature of this investigation.
