Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Center for the Biologic Basis of Oral/Systemic Diseases The A/E Core has continued to provide support for the junior Pis to develop within the research infrastructure of the COBRE cePiter. The A/EC provides various tools for grant and manuscript preparation, as well as direct support for grants management within the context of the COBRE award. In addition to the routine meetings between the junior PI and senior mentors, the A/EC organizes bimonthly meetings ofthe entire COBRE faculty. At each of these meetings, general information is provided on the COBRE activities, specific funding solicitations are presented and discussed, and 1 of the junior Pis presents an update on their project. We anticipate that as we move into the 08 year, some of these meetings would also enlist some ofthe senior mentors to present interesting aspects of the research activities that our outside the scope of the COBRE project, but would be of interest to the junior Pis in the academic development. The COBRE continues to support a seminar series in collaboration with the UK College of Dentistry and the Kentucky Chapter ofthe American Association of Dental Research. These seminars have engaged researchers ranging from basic (Dr. Gil Diamond, UMDNJ; Dr, Richard Lamont, Univ. of Louisville) to clinical and translational (Dr. Sarandeep Huja, Ohio State) research. We will continue this series over year 08 ofthe center.
