Description
The Southeast Center for Agricultural Health and Injury Prevention conducts research, education, and
prevention projects to address the region's pressing agricultural safety and health problems. To
accomplish this objective, the Southeast Center has the following aims: 1) Conduct research related to
the prevention of occupational disease and injury among agricultural workers and their families. 2)
Develop, implement, and evaluate education and outreach programs for promoting health and safety
for agricultural worker and their families. 3) Develop, implement, and evaluate model programs for the
prevention of illness and injury among agricultural workers and their families. 4) Develop linkages with
other governmental and on-governmental bodies involved in agricultural health and safety with special
emphasis on communications with other agricultural health and safety programs.
