Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The agreement with the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture will support the Kentucky Radon Program by producing a radon educational exhibit display, a radon training package for Radon Extension Agents , and a table top display that will be transportable. The primary support will be through display of radon education materials at multiple home and garden shows, expos, county fairs, and the annual state fair. The Enviromental Protection Agency (EPA) State Indoor Radon Grant (SIRG) does not provide for any full-time staff in Publisc Health Protection and Safety (PHPS) Division that can produce or manufacture radon educational displays at reasonable costs while also hosting radon exhibits at 30 to 50 shows and conferences throughout the year. The UK College of Agriculture routinely organizes and hosts exhibits centered around energy reduction in the home and they can easily include radon in their educationa l efforts as well increase exposure through County Extension Agents in Kentucky.
