The Kentucky Partnership for Early Childhood Services, funded through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Division of Child Care is the managing network for the 15 community-based Child Care Resource and Referral agencies across the state. The mission of the Kentucky Partnership for Early Childhood Services is to improve the quality, accessibility, and affordability of child care for all Kentucky families. In Supporting the CCR&R network, five major areas of focus will be addressed: 1. Recruit and retain early care and education service providers in each ADD. 2. Provide and/or coordinate specific training for early care and education providers that will increase the quality of services provided across each ADD. 3. Provide appropriate and accessible information to families about the availability of early care and education services within the community 4. Enhance the understanding of community stakeholders about need for & availability of high quality early care and education services 5. Provide data to state and local entities Role of UK in CCR&R Services " Coordinate and support the local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies across the state of Kentucky " Manage/distribute CCRR funding " Carry out the contracts/determine services " Track their performance " Provide data and information to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services on how the CCR&Rs are meeting the state indicators " Training, support, monitoring, and evaluation Regional Core Content Gap Analysis In the November of 2005 six regional forums were conducted in collaboration with the Division of Child Care and the Kentucky Department of Education. The purpose of the forums was to identify gaps in the current training across the Core content levels and subject areas. Representatives from state training organizations and private trainers within their regions were invited to participate. The completed report can be found on www.kentuckypartnership.org/ccgap/ Collaboration: The Coordinators from the CCR&R project and The Quality Enhancement Project have joined together to present overviews to the public about our services. Both projects continue to advocate for children, work to improve the lives of families, and educate the community about the importance of early care and education.
