Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Kentucky Heritage Council State Historic Preservation Comprehensive Plan, Report No. 3
places Christian County in general within the Pennyrile Plain cultural landscape, and the project area is
situated within the Westem Pemlyroyal physiographic region, characterized by strongly developed karst
topography with many sinkholes, springs, and caves. Additionally, it is within the Pennyroyal section of
the Green River management area where site density is the highest recorded for management areas
defined within the state. Consequently, the expectations are high for encountering sites, and these might
include both prehistoric 01' historic sites.
