Grants and Contracts Details
Description
This project, funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, will interface with existing re-entry programs by adding the crucial component of peer mentors to the existing re-entry services that Chrysalis House provides in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Corrections and the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women. Mentoring is an effective reentry strategy for reducing recidivism and thus improving community safety. The proposed project will work closely with state and local reentry efforts and will result in improved retention and decreased recidivism. Evaluation services will be provided by the University of Kentucky College of Social Work in conjunction with the UK Center on Drug and Alcohol Research.
