Description
Task 1: Technical administration of CBRC projects in the Eastern Region
The regional director will work with regional project principal investigators and research
staff to ensure each project meets its goals and objectives by:

1. providing technical input or identifying other experts who can provide technical
input as needed
2. visiting project sites to gain understanding of regional projects
providing aid in disseminating project information through CBRC and other
means
reviewing and commenting on proposals, work statements, and reports
reporting on technical issues/questions raised by regional stakeholders
contributing to the development of national and regional priorities.
Task 2: Technical Oversight of Regional Projects
Communicate NSC recommendations on work scope to regional contractors
Work with regional contractors to develop appropriate and technically feasible
work statements, deliverables, and timelines
Review and comment on regional contractor's reports
Communicate with regional contractors to follow work progress, assess
deviations from stated work plan, reschedule work if needed
Provide technical input to regional contractors or identify appropriate experts,
regulators, or others as needed
Communicate regional project progress nationwide.
Task 3: Administrative Duties
1. Facilitate regional forums for development of regional priorities and report
regional priorities nationwide and to the CBRC National Steering Committee
Promote the CBRC program to regional stakeholders to facilitate high quality,
high visibility technology transfer and submission of high quality, targeted
research proposals
Submit periodic summaries of regional research projects, participate in NSC
meetings and conference calls and participate in other internal and external
technology transfer and informational meetings, conference calls, etc.
Facilitating communication within the region with the Regional Chair and Review
Committees
Facilitating submission of reports and other documentation by regional project
researchers
Task 4: Submit Status Reports, Financial Reports, and 269 forms quarterly on the
Midwestern Regional Center activities to the National Center.
