Description
The Collaborative Center for Literacy Development will be contracting with KDE in order to integrate the
Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) with the existing Adolescent Literacy Project (ALP). ALP provides
literacy intentsive, professional development for middle and high school teachers and administrators.
Participants meet during summer institutes and develop literacy action plans to apply during the school
year. University faculty lead the summer institutes and conduct follow up visits through the school year.
With this contract, CCLD staff and ALP university faculty will be trained and equipped to implement LDC.
ALP participants will receive LDC instruction and resources through Core Tools during the summer
institutes.
