Collaborative Research: Characterization of Contaminants and Isotopic Tracers Associated with Coal Combustion Products

  • Hower, James (PI)

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) will participate with Duke University on an expanded examination of the basic characterization of coal combustion byproducts (CCBs) and the partitioning of trace elements among the ashes. Some of the partitioning can be quantified using isotope chemistry. The CAER brings a basic understanding of the production and characterization of CCBs and the methods of utilization or disposal of CCBs. The CAER will be an active participant in many aspects of the three-year study.
