Description
The SUBCONTRACTOR's researchers shall be responsible for conducting and developing the first half
of the research on the Processual Method of Historical Sociology (PMHS) as funded by NSF. He will
be responsible for a) adapting the PMHS methodology for Anthropology, b) coding of additional four
cases for the East African database, and c) photocopying, iii) reading all the material and analyzing each
case with respect to causal complexity and iv) entry of codes into database. Note that step (iii) is not
simply a question of coding but a qualified process of holistic interpretation and analysis that requires
extensive ethnographic background knowledge.
