Competitive Grant for State Assessment

Abstract UK Next Gen brings a wealth of expertise in leading educational innovation and transformation efforts in nearly every region across Kentucky. The center has a proven track record of supporting district and school leaders in creating systems and environments that encourage deeper learning and student-centered approaches that align with the United We Learn vision. Most, if not all, Local Laboratories of Learning (L3) leaders have participated in UK Next Gen’s professional development opportunities such as the Next Gen Leadership Academy. The center already has a growing collection of PD offerings that align to CGSA priorities which include “developing a Portrait of a Learner”, “Building Trust through Systems of Local Accountability”, and “Performance Assessment Strategies”. By leveraging this expertise, the partnership aims to pioneer high-quality development and implementation of local assessment and accountability models with a broad reach and deep impact across the entire state.
