Comprehensive Hemophilia Diagnostic and Treatment Center -MCHB 2015-16

The expanding challenge of the network of hemophilia treatment centers is to apply the comprehensive preventive health model as widely as possible. Challenges for the bleeding disorder network remain, in the imperative to discover those who remain underserved and to apply lessons. learned inhemophilia to higher incidence problems, including the families of women and girls with bleeding disorders who may benefit from the comprehensive approach. Methodology: The network of comprehensive hemophilia treatment centers that serve Region IV-North (Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) will cooperate to deliver preventive and family-based care consistent with the highest standard to all areas of the population of our states. The cornerstone of care is the annual or semi-annual comprehensive clinic visit, at which attention to bleeding symptoms is paid, in addition to wide-ranging aspects of health andhealthy behavior of the family. The objectives of this project include an increased effort to recruit to care the underserved, those living below poverty and those who arc uninsured,those who are minorities and the women and the girls who bleed. Individual hemophilia treatment centers also commit to the collection and sharing of demographic information on the composition, care and complications of the bleeding disorders population served at the center.
